In 1902 Harry Northwood opened up his well known glass company in West Virginia. His father was a glass maker and Harry followed in his footsteps. Northwood’s famous Golden Iris carnival glass was released in 1908. This was his first attempt at making northwood carnival glass.
Northwood created carnival glass that was of the utmost quality. He produced northwood carnival glass in many styles and beautiful colors. Colors of auqa opalescent, ice blue, pastels, and white where incorporated into his gorgeous lines of glass products. His most famous carnival glass was the white. Today, collectors are thrilled when they find Northwood’s white carnival glass because it is very rare.
Harry Northwood was the only glass maker during this time period that stamped his glass with a trademark. This made Northwood glass more easy to recognize.
