Bearing a unique shade of red that is frequently imitated, authentic Fenton Cranberry glassware is difficult to find. There simply are not enough pieces for the number of collectors of the genuinne line of glass. Other pieces were made by the same company and called, “Ruby Overlay.” This line is not branded and also does not bear the unique cranberry color.
Fenton Cranberry was made by using a special blend. 24K gold was mixed in during the molting process. There is not another way to make this exact color. This makes the collection originally marketed from 1942 to 1949 rare as well as expensive. Fenton did make some original cranberry in the 70’s using the original moulds and glass making formula. Edges were crimped differently so one could tell the difference.
